Lou Syracuse
Lou is a self-taught multi-instrumentalist who records and produces music in his home studio using Studio One and Ableton Live. He began working with electronic music in the late 90s, teaching musicians and music studios in the Southern California area how to incorporate computers and MIDI instruments into their workflows.
His latest music releases are available on all major online music platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, SoundCloud,…. All the online services.
Bass guitar is his primary instrument, and he was the bassist for the New Jersey-based band Work In Progress. He is available for worship programs in the Los Angeles area. He plays a Sire V8 5-string bass and a rare 5-string fretless he re-acquired 20 years after parting with it. He favors Roland and Native Instruments keyboards.
He is also a writer. His first book, The Promise, is on schedule to be completed in mid-late 2026. The title track of his CD of the same name is a song written by the main character, Jason, for his girlfriend Lisa. His latest CD, Reflections, includes a song that Jason and Lisa wrote and recorded together.
Personal Notes:
- Father of three, grandfather of two. He and his wife, Jen, have been married for over 35 years.
- Software Developer by trade, he has worked for Icon Media Direct for over 15 years.
- Played ice hockey for over 20 years, playing on both the east and west coasts, often serving as team captain. As a right-handed center, he was skilled at winning face-offs and led his team in goals scored multiple times. He hung up his skates in 2022.
